Hello everyone,
What a nice October Sunday morning we are having, beautiful weather here in Spain again!
It is Halloween soon and only 9 weeks to Christmas, where does time go! Last night, well, the early hours of this morning, the clocks went back, I did not know this happened in Spain was shocked, I still have all sorts to learn with our new life here LOL. Halloween (or ‘The Day of the Dead’ as it’s referred too here in Spain) seems a massive concern! It seems more geared around adults and some regions celebrate it for days on end!
The Valencian Government announced a bit of a mini lockdown here yesterday, we are not allowed out between the hours of 12 midnight and 6am morning, so this is having some small problems for the bars etc. They are all having to make adjustments to comply with the regulations; maximum 6 at a table, all tables 2 meters apart, no smoking unless in dedicated area and a maximum of 2 people at a time; no alcohol served after 10pm and before 8am! No drinking at the bar… the list goes on….. and on! Masks are compulsory everywhere you go at all times – no exceptions! On the spot fines for non-compliance!
This week I have been trying to drive our new car for the first time. We got a car for work so we could get everything in we needed and be able to pick friends up when visiting so we purchased a 7-seater, 2 litre diesel, never have I had such a big car or had to drive one so the ‘driving lessons’ are not going too well at the moment lol. This is one of those times I wish I had my little Mazda 2 back with me.
After the mad week we had last week, this week has been a little quieter for us, we have been out to do some deep cleans and had to arrange some contractors and get them booked in for a few odd jobs for one of our clients.
We are still hoping that we can get home for Christmas! We would really like to see our family and friend over the ‘festive’ period in whatever form that takes given the current situation. We miss them so much even though I talk to them most days via phone or video call.
Hi Kim! hope you’re keeping well? Thanks for liking my blog, we miss you guys and can’t wait to come see you both when, or if, we get back to the UK at Christmas.
We that is it for this week don’t think I have missed anything.
