It has been so nice to hear from you all and welcome to my blog.
I have never done anything like this before so it's all new to me.
Gill, it is so hard to be self employed (Autonomo) in a new places and not knowing anyone. We are just on with Resdencia the moment, how long you been here Gill? thank you for your reply, it's nice to chat even online!
Jo, thank you for your support look forward to hearing from you.
Val, Phil says hi and he misses working and meeting up with everyone and working with Guide Dogs! Say hello to everyone from us both please!
I am learning fast that most things in business here is done by word of mouth. I've also noted there is lack of letter boxes which I find strange, the postal services is fairly hit and miss! I am finding it hard to find and make new friends as I am not use to doing so, you would think after 40 odd years I would be able to (LOL) but still does not come easy to me. We have only been here since early July and most people around us have returned to England, we are the only people around so it's a good job I love my hubby.
The things I have learnt from being here is we stayed in la Mata for 2 weeks before we moved in to the villa where we are now, La Mata a lovely places to go visit if you get the chance. Phil has learnt more Spanish in La Mata than where we are currently as everyone is English here so speaking Spanish is not needed.
You can't wash your car on the street you have to got to a registered car wash - not something that impresses Phil but he'll have to learn to accept it. It seems Spanish love paperwork and boy there are lots of paperwork here in Spain! If we are going to do anything we now take everything with us and there will still be something we have not got when we get there!
It seems that everyone or most people have a dog, they are very big out here (in one way or another) lol. Your not meant to feed wild cats has they are there to chase mice and if you feed them they are not doing what they are meant to do! We know one lady here who must have at least 30 cats!
As for bugs!!!!!!!!!! Phil is of the opinion that everything wants to bite or eat you! We are both constantly being 'eaten' by mosquito's no matter what we do!
I even had to get a lizard out of the villa because Phil would have just stood on it! Think he's coming round now a little just not with Mosquito's!
We recently purchased a Spanish car, that was the best thing we did as we came to Spain in a van, this was simply so we could move everything across here! The police stopped us all the time because it was GB number plate, it got to the point where we didn't want to go out in it anywhere .
Spanish is harder for me to pick up then Phil i just cant get my head around it - he seems to be picking it up quite easily.
Pleases feel free to reply - its really nice to sit and read your comments!
Keep safe everyone,
